Hidden Gems Algarve

The Algarve, planted by the sea, is a place of sun and beach, but not only! We have created for you a list of places and activities that you should consider when your next destination is the Algarve.

With you in mind, we created the list of Hidden Gems in the Algarve.

Benagil

Benagil, is a small fishermen's beach, located in the municipality of Lagoa in the Algarve.

This beach, a haven for local fishermen, has recently become very popular with national and international visitors.

Next to this beach there is a rock formation of unique beauty, which makes every year thousands of people visit this place. But what is this place anyway? What's the best way to visit it?

Benagil is a natural cave, a consequence of the erosion of limestone rocks, which mostly make up the Algarve coast.

These yellowish rocks are permeable, and with the sea and natural phenomena they begin to outline what we can call natural sculptures, thus emerge the caves in the Algarve, and the most famous of all “The Benagil cave”

In the last 10 years, the demand for this place has skyrocketed, and there are several offers from tour operators to visit the cave, but we are going to demystify these excursions to Benagil, understanding the differences, so that you can choose how you want to visit the famous cave. de Benagil, or Algar de Benagil.

Benagil is a sea cave, therefore it is only possible to visit it in 4 ways:

Boat

Kayak ou Sup

Swim

Or visit it from the top, where you can just see through the opening at the top of the cave.

Boat trips exist with departures from several places, we can find boats directly on the beach of Benagil, as well as other trips from Portimão , Albufeira e Lagos.

It all depends on the length of time you want the tour and the type of boat you prefer.

Algar Seco - Boneca

It is located in Carvoeiro, this planted paradise by the sea.

This place appears on our list of the most instagrammable places in the Algarve, as we consider it unique beauty, and that not only should be photographed, but also visited.

It is located in the village of Carvoeiro, in the municipality of Lagoa.

It has a car park, where you can leave your car. Access is via a staircase.

We recommend, not only the Algar Seco, but also the huge walkway, which allows you to see the entire village of Carvoeiro and its beach

Ferragudo

This is a novelty, it is certainly one of the least listed places, since this media coverage is recent.

This little street in Ferragudo is undeniably beautiful. It is, therefore, places that receive many visits, not only because it remains very traditional, but also because of the beautiful, bougainvillea, with pink flowers.

This street is very close to the church of Ferragudo.

We recommend visiting this street, as well as admiring the magnificent view of the church of Ferragudo, as they are very close. So Ferragudo had to be on this list of must-see places in the Algarve

Ponta da Piedade

In Lagos, there are so many beautiful places, that it is even difficult to look for the most instagrammable, however, without a doubt, Ponta da Piedade, had to be part of our list of must-see places in the Algarve.

These rock formations have aroused the interest of those who visit us, due to the natural beauty of the rocks, which sometimes seem sculpted by an artist.

If you want to explore the tip of piety, you can opt for a boat tour, that meticulously, will take you, to the most beautiful corners.
